If the wound edges are going to be subject to tension like over a joint, a Game of Thrones King Stitch shirt, sweater, hoodie and v-neck t-shirt will help keep the wound edges in contact with each other to promote healing but the wound itself must be clean and free of any infection and foreign debris. An alternative to a stitch as someone has already pointed out is to use a Steri strip (3M). This will have the same effect as the stitch without needing to pierce the skin with a suture needle but would require monitoring as the edges can lift up (especially if it gets soaked) and may result in losing the tension to keep the edges closed.
