They could not make Dany look more inevitable if they put a neon sign above her head. So either she really is inevitable and the show has the subtlety of a brick to the face, or there’s something else going on here. I keep yo-yo-ing with myself on whether Dany’s being played straight or getting set up for subversion. Every time I think she’s being subverted, they swing her back to being played straight. Every time I think maybe they’re playing her straight, she’ll do something horrible and I’ll think, “Nope, subversion.” They’re getting to the point where they need to make up their minds on her. To be honest I’m happy to predict subversion and be wrong, because the alternative — if she is just being played straight and none of her easy conquests mean anything beyond face value — is that she’s the most Mary Sue character to have ever Mary’d a Sue.
