Warriors win the Pacific division, and finish 1st in the western conference. Lakers finish somewhere between 3rd and 8th. The clippers narrowly miss the playoffs, and the kings remain doormats. For a professional sports league, 32 teams is perfect. It affords the league the ability to break the league into four divisions of 8 teams each, with two divisions in each of two conferences (east/west). The NHL wants to get to 32 teams and has for some time. However far into the future that expansion took place, they would realign divisions when the time came.
