I find myself when I feel lost or anxious, Superheroes and God that’s how I saved the world shirt of self-beat up. Thinking, I should know better than this, or resenting myself for human qualities like fear and insecurity, combating image conversations that I will lose my credibility and power, or even worse, be found out as a fraud and left by those I love, if I give time or attention to my worry or pain. Most of the time these emotions are fleeting. I am proud to say that over time I have trained myself to process these thoughts quickly, and I’ve practiced choosing love and bravery in these moments, a seamless shift that many times happens instantaneously. I used to hate the word surrender because I thought it meant giving up.
