That’s the difference between liberals and conservatives in a nutshell. Liberals want higher taxes but want to use them to better society and help those without. Conservatives want all the benefits of living in a civilized society education, public works good roads public safety but don’t want to pay for it. Look down upon those that do these jobs and resent having to pay for them.
