Major League scouts fell in love with Alex McKenna’s offensive production over 3 years at Cal Poly. I had the honor of having lunch today with Joe Gibbon. Joe is 83 now but still enjoys talking baseball and about the old days in a way that gets your attention. Seems they had just as much fun while in the dugout as on the field. He feels fortunate to have played on teams with such great players as Willie Mays, Johnny Bench to name a few and many of his Pirate teammates of the 1960 World Series team his rookie year.
